Project Overview:
The task is to complete 400 person-to-person surveys with mall customers over 2 days. Specific ethnic and age groups will be targeted to meet the client's data collection requirements. Customers will be asked questions and the surveyor will document the answers on a paper form. Qualified candidate will need strong spoken and written English and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of ethnicities customers. The surveyors are expected to be ambassadors of the mall's management and make the experience enjoyable for participants. Survey participants will be given a voucher as a thank you for participating.
Work Summary:
When: Thurs, Fri, March 8-9
Shift: 9am to 6pm - Arrive 10 mins early.
Pay: $12/Hr
Location: Jane Finch Mall in Downsview
Candidates will be given a 10 to 15 minute phone screening interview by client to confirm their fit with the project. Ideally the candidates will be local or have no issues with transportation.
Temp Profile Overview:
All must speak and write excellent English, be outgoing, detail oriented and be able to approach a wide range of ages and ethnicities in a professional and friendly manner as they complete the surveys. The surveyors will be working independently and have quota's to meet on a daily basis.
Hard Skills:
Excellent spoken and written command of the English language.
Writing must be legible by any 3rd party.
Must be able to quickly and accurately take notes in English from survey respondents on a survey form held by a clipboard.
Able to stand and walk for 8 hour shifts without issue.
Able to work all 2 days and the required hours.
Able to self organize to ensure a wide range of age groups and ethnic diversities are surveyed as per quotas.
Minimum high school education. College preferred. Oral and written English testing required.
Soft Skills:
Friendly and approachable demeanour, self-motivated, target oriented, extroverted and able to make people feel comfortable immediately.
Able to think on their feet and keep firm control over a friendly interview.
Able to work with minimal management and complete a repetitive task competently.
Able to work quickly to meet a target of completing 35 surveys per day at 10 to 14 minutes per survey.
Able to be persistent and keep a pleasant demeanour despite potential repeated rejection from customers.
Able to proactively identify issues in meeting the project objectives and discuss with project supervisor.
